The Kontrapunkt Investment Project Team has developed a facade renovation project for the tenement house at the intersection of Łobzowska Street and Słowackiego Avenue in Cracow. This building, which was constructed in 1929 based on the project of Ludwik Wojtyczka, is an excellent example of Polish modernist architecture. Taking into consideration the shape of the body and the composition of the facade, it constitutes one of the more interesting examples of Cracovian apartmental architecture of the interwar period. The new seat of one of the most prestigious Polish science institutes will come into being on the grounds of the new Warsaw Ochota PAS Campus at Pawińskiego Street 5. The complex, spanning a usable space of 10,000 m˛, is currently being expanded by a further 7,000 m˛ in order to meet the needs of the Institute of Information Technology and Ecology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The direct inspiration for this project are the streaks in the skies left by flying airplanes. The research and diagnostics centre of the pharmaceutical company Temapharm has commissioned the Kontrapunkt team to plan the conceptual design of the Temapharm research and diagnostics laboratory in Warsaw in the 81, Żwirki i Wigury Street.     The commissioned works included laying out the research laboratories (organic chemistry, biology and pharmacology) as well as of the administration room. A project initiated by our studio for the conservation of the heritage buildings belonging to the Wroclaw City Council foresaw a gradual renewal of the city’s most important historical buildings. Based on detailed historical and archival analyses, the projects aimed at a stage-by-stage implementation of the conservation works, which brought about a restitution of the original architectural details able to be seen on individual buildings.   The Kontrapunkt team is the author and supervisor of the Ministry of Interior and Administration hospital extension project. As part of a long term investment the construction of 11 new wards with three ultra-modern operation rooms, sport and rehabilitation facilities, a hotel for the patients’ relatives, multi-level parking for 500 cars and roof landing strip for helicopters has been planned. This building is permanently registered as part of the historical center of Cracow, having served as the seat of the mediaeval Collegium Minus as early as the 15th century. In the Piotrowo University Campus there will be a modern building for teaching and scientific purposes built by the Poznan University of Technology. The Centre for Mechatronics, Biomechanics and Nanoengineering will comprise of teaching rooms for approximately 1500 students and a complex of rooms for laboratory and scientific purposes to which belong a laboratory of atomic force microscopy and a laboratory of ergonomy and metasystem dynamics. The Kontrapunkt team has proposed a conceptual design of the crematorium which is to come into existence on the Batowicki Cemetery in Krakow. In the clean and simple design there is a preparation room, a chapel, a farewell room and cremation appliances.     Kontrapunkt has teamed up with the Swedish firm Tabo to develop an elaborate technological system which allows to conduct up to 1400 cremations per annum and retains the highest standards with regard to air pollution and ecological safeguarding. The family foster home is the first project of its kind, in that it combines an innovative approach with experience. The main conceptual presuppositions of the project are based on two pillars: functionality, which comes of an understanding of the needs of the inhabitants, and ensuring a maximal level of comfort while retaining the relatively moderate size of the block.   Twelve persons (ten children and two foster parents) can reside in the family foster home. The covered south stand, the first of four planned, was completed swiftly in the period November 2004-July 2005 and made available for use. As early as August 9th, 2005, the first spectators watched from the new stand an opportune match won by Wisła 3-1 over Panathinaikos Athens.
