The Kontrapunkt Medic team led by architect Piotr Salwa completed and submitted, at the headquarters of the investor - the Independent Public Regional Hospital named after Pope John Paul II in Zamość, the building permit design of the Oncology Centre. The body of the newly design facility deserves special recognition.
Varied by colouring, building's form (including roof shape) and the traditional window framing preserved, it refers to houses located on the renaissance market square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The whole of the facade is characterized by banding effect and penetration of galss and titanium zinc surfaces. The hospital will consist of 3 wards for 20 patients each (surgical, chemotherapy and palliative care), ambulatory part with surgical facility, amphitheatre lecture hall for 236 seats and two conference rooms. Construction work will begin this year and the facility is expected to be finished in 2011.
