In the shade of the Warsaw skyscrapers, among which soon Porta Varsovia by KVP Team will be raised, the modernization works of one of the oldest Polish hospitals are carried out. This is Infant Jesus Clinical Hospital whose design was prepared by Kontrapunkt Medic Team. The object, constituting a part of Warsaw Medical University, founded in 1732 as “The Foundlings House”, renamed by the decree of Augustus III into “The General Hospital of the Infant Jesus”, provided care and treatment for poor pregnant women.
Over the years, the hospital has become the leading institution in transplantation and trauma medicine, and in 1966, the first kidney transplant was accomplished there. Currently, construction works on the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Venous Thromboembolism are conducted. On the photos: Aleksander Mirek, general designer and architect, Dariusz Matulski, cintract manager and Łukasz Stańczyk, construction manager from Warbud.
